FGV Analytics

Welcome to the FGV Analytics profile, a multidisciplinary research center that integrates technology, data science, and public policy to address high-impact social challenges. Founded by Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in partnership with the São Paulo State Public Security Department (SSP-SP), and supported by FAPESP, FGV Analytics was designed to lead innovative initiatives in developing evidence-based solutions for public security. Our mission is to accelerate the use of data and artificial intelligence to transform decision-making in public policy and create a positive societal impact. Our activities are organized into three main areas: Development of Big Data and AI Tools: We create analytical and predictive systems to support crime prevention and control strategies, as well as to optimize resources and processes in public security. Evaluation of Programs and Public Policies: We develop robust methodologies to measure the impact and effectiveness of security-related policies and programs. Open Research and Innovation Network: We foster collaboration between researchers, public administrators, and private companies, promoting innovative solutions by involving various stakeholders.
