The Fighter Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization was created in honor of Michelle Boyd DeJong and inspired by her "fighter" mentality. Diagnosed with an inoperable aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma, Michelle was determined to use her experience to help others. She took one of her favorite sayings to heart, "BElieve THEre is GOOD in the World” and often explained, “How easy is it once you realize that YOU can BE THE GOOD? YOU can make a difference!” Michelle lost her personal fight against brain cancer when she died on Valentine’s Day in February 2016 but her fighter spirit and her “BeTheGood” mantra live on through the Fighter Foundation.
The primary objectives of the foundation are to raise funds for brain tumor research and awareness, support quality of life improvement for brain tumor patients and caregivers while promoting community involvement and civic pride.
