FishEUTrust Project

FishEUTrust aims to defragment the current food system to ensure sustainability and deliver solutions for a transparent and traceable seafood supply chain. The innovation at the heart of FishEUTrust is integrating different actors into a digital platform that links technology providers, supply chain stakeholders, policymakers, and consumers. FishEUTrust will establish five Co-creation Living Labs in the Mediterranean Basin, the North Sea, and the Atlantic Sea to test and validate supply chain solutions. Examples of these solutions include creating sustainable business models, protecting cultural and culinary heritage, shortening food supply chains, exploiting underused fish species, and engaging directly with consumers to understand their needs and behaviours. The project will also develop tools to maximize trust by guaranteeing the quality, safety, and traceability of seafood products. These tools will be integrated into a single digital FishEUTrust data platform that will utilize the latest developments in artificial intelligence, data science, and human-computer interactions.
