Focus on Function Physical Therapy, PC was established in 2010 as a physical therapy private practice. In 2016, we began offering continuing education courses around the US, contracted through various companies. Focus on Function Physical Therapy now offers vestibular rehabilitation continuing education courses and mentoring at vestibularpt.com. Courses include: Vestibular Rehab Certificate for Clinicians: Foundation and Clinical Application, a 22 contact hour hybrid course intended to improve clinical reasoning and technical skills of PT's and OT's to improve access to care. Current Concepts in Concussion Management: A Strategic Approach to Rehab, a multi-disciplinary course intended for PT's and OT's to promote a global, interdisciplinary approach to management of patients post-concussion. Course instructors include physical therapists with backgrounds in orthopedics, sports, and vestibular rehab, and specialists in neuro-optometry, and neuropsychology. Vestibular 101: A Basic Clinical Competency was developed to create a baseline competency in all new staff, used during the onboarding phas of PT's and OT's across the organization. Fundamentals of Vestibular Rehab is a one-day hybrid course offered to facilities to bring their staff up to speed on current principles of vestibular rehab assessment and treatment. Mentoring is available on an individual or clinic basis. Mentorship includes initial interview with the therapist to determine current skill and to create an action plan, access to online coursework, and bi-weekly virtual meetings to develop clinical reasoning and improve efficiency and productivity in the care of patients with vestibular conditions.
