WHY WE EXIST
The majority of people who enter veterinary medicine do so to engage in the mastery of knowledge fueled by tremendous passion to improve the lives of animals. These people are driven, creative, empathetic, and resilient. Often, along the professional journey, many veterinary professionals encounter extremely challenging realities of the profession such as high student loan debt; compensation models which promote excessive work; understaffing; and economic euthanasia, just to name a few. These challenges lead to compassion fatigue, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, sleep disturbances, burnout, and even suicide have become increasingly common. We see common responses of burnout and turnover.
