Fundatia Comunitara Valcea

Valcea Community Foundation is an apolitical NGO, set up in 2019, as part of the national movement of 18 Community Foundations in Romania. Our mission is to be a motor of positive changes that sustain the 370000 potential beneficiaries in the county. We are a trusted partner that supports local initiatives long term by connecting resources with community development projects. We harness the power of small grants and investments, help communities build on the assets they can mobilize themselves, encourage active citizenship. Our most valuable asset is “trust”, as the glue that makes a community feel like home and act from a growth mindset. We measure partnerships, capacity growth for NGOs, results, impact of the projects, donor engagement. We involve stakeholders (companies, individuals, authorities, institutions, volunteers and NGOs) to run, volunteer, donate, sponsor or implement the projects. For the domains we support (education, environment, health, culture, relief for the underprivileged, community organising) we have regranted in 4 years 997.847 RON, for 64 NGOs and initiative groups and had 11 projects with direct implementation (1.024.733 RON).
