Future Lidos

Future Lidos connects and represents lidos in the UK and Ireland. We support 130+ operating lidos, and over 30 community-led projects and campaigns working to revive heritage pools and create new lidos. Thanks to a major grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we have recently run a major collaborative project, Pooling Resources, which centred on creating a Lido Toolkit. The Toolkit is free to access, and contains a wealth of insight assembled from a wide range of experienced pool operators and project leaders. It includes topics like environmental sustainability, inclusivity and business development, as well as a range of evidence for the health, social and economic benefits that lidos bring. Driven by communities craving the many benefits they bring, the resurgence of lidos has really gathered pace in the 2020s. These inclusive, accessible and joyous facilities have the potential to nourish our health, our happiness, our economy and our communities long into the future, and the Toolkit was created to help them do that.
