The Governments of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) approved the establishment of the Gulf Accreditation Center GAC, in order to provide reliable services to destinations conformity assessment of laboratories and points of inspection and certification bodies in all Member States, including supporting the GCC joint action and to facilitate trade and to support the industry and the national economy in the Member States and support the implementation of the legislative system Gulf to adjust the products in the Gulf market and the application of procedures and rules of conformity in the Member States the center.
مركز الاعتماد الخليجي يعتبر أول مركز اعتماد متعدد الاقتصاديات في الدول الاسيوية والمحيط الهادي والشرق الاوسط يحصل على الاعتراف الدولي من المنظمة الدولية لاعتماد المختبرات، حيث أنشىء المركز في شهر مايو ٢٠١٣م باعتماد اتفاقية الانشاء بعد أن أنهى كافة متطلبات التأسيس من وضع اجراءات عمله وتدريب المقومين من دول مجلس التعاون بالتعاون والشراكة مع منظمة الـ NATA الاسترالية أعرق أجهزة الاعتماد في العالم
باشر المركز أعماله ابتداءً من يناير ٢٠١٤م وحقق الاعتراف الدولي في يونيو ٢٠١٦م كأسرع جهاز يحقق هذا الانجاز
يسعى المركز لتعزيز البنية التحتية للجودة ودعم الاقتصاد والصناعة في دول مجلس التعاون وتسهيل التبادل التجاري بينها
