GAJOOB Magazine

GAJOOB began in 1987 as a printed zine of random content. Its third issue began its focus on home recording and independent recording artists. The magazine expanded online early on in 1990 publishing electronic editions to bulletin board systems and later onto AOL and then its own website as early as 1991-2. Its DiY Report was one of the first email newsletters for musicians, spanning over 100 issues and the website hosted one of the first review and industry information databases. Currently GAJOOB's focus is on developing deeper conversations with artists on the art and craft of creating music, encompassing a variety of media. We are also busy building infrastructure to digitize GAJOOB's large archive of home recordings before they are lost to history.
