GAPRES, Gabinete de Projectos, Engenharia e Serviços, Lda. is a company specialized in engineering studies and projects. Established in 1973, as a limited liability company, the company underwent various changes in its social pact, becoming as of 1993 a corporation. The company holds a vast curriculum within the realm of engineering projects and complementary services, attested by its many scattered undertakings throughout the country (Continental Portugal and the Autonomous Regions), as well as abroad (Macau, Angola, Mozambique, Cabo Verde, Middle East and Venezuela). GAPRES activity in engineering studies and projects is very vast, covering a wide range of specialties that includes structural engineering, seismic engineering and dynamics of structures, geology, geotechnical, special foundations, retaining structures, excavations and earth moving, construction pathology, and rehabilitation of structures. The projects carried out include conventional and tall buildings, sports facilities, bridges and viaducts, shopping and retail buildings, industrial structures, masts and antennas, reservoirs, and silos, using reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, steel and wood structures, as well as masonry construction. The company includes, amongst its staff, specialists in various areas of structural engineering, earthquake engineering and geotechnical engineering that use the most recent construction techniques and structural solutions, such as: • suspended and cable-stayed structures; • tensile structures; • mixed structures; • structures in non-traditional materials.
