GENEX is an EU-funded collaborative research project targeting at an innovative digital twin-driven framework for optimized aircraft composite manufacturing and advanced repair processes for ensuring aircraft´s safety and airworthiness.
By 2050 CO2 emissions are expected to be almost ten times higher than in 1990. To achieve the EU environmental goals by 2050 is required efficient and sustainable manufacturing, robust repairing processes and enhanced aircraft lifecycle.
GENEX commits to develop:
- Advanced and efficient manufacturing of recyclable composites
- New structural health and usage monitoring and management systems
- Digital-assisted repair processes and tools
which, through integration, will lead to a multi-disciplinary digital twin of the component throughout its lifecycle for the next generation aircraft composite structures.
