The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride, the world's largest motoring event was founded in 2012. Inspired by a photo of Mad Men’s Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit, It was decided a themed ride would be a great way to combat the often-negative stereotype of men on motorcycles. That first ride brought together over 2,500 riders across 64 cities. The success of the event encouraged the organisers to consider how it could be used to support a worthy cause. And the rest, as they say, is stylishly-attired history. In 2013, over 11,000 participants in 145 cities around the world raised over $277,000 AUD for prostate cancer research. In 2014, we had over 20,000 smartly-dressed gentlefolk in over 220 cities to straddle the saddle in the name of men’s health raising over $1,500,000 USD. In 2015, we had over 40,000+ smartly-dressed gentlefolk in over 400+ cities join us in raising over $2,310,000 USD. In 2016 our goal is to take part in over 550+ cities with over 50,000 participants, aiming to raise $5m USD. 2017, saw us raise $4.85m raised by 92,000 riders in 582 cities across 92 countries! 2018, we hit new heights, Raising over $6m. With over 115,000 riders in nearly 650 cities and over 100 countries. In 2019, we matched that with another $6m! In 2020, Covid hit and amazingly we were able to add another $2.7m to our total! In 2021, whilst in the middle of a pandemic, the community came together and raised $4.1m bringing us to a total of $31.5m, celebrating a decade of DGR in full dapper style! The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride has teamed up with that most iconic and dapper of motorcycle companies, Triumph, to help add some highbrow horsepower to the event and twist the throttle towards the end of prostate cancer.
