Geochicas, OpenStreetMap LatAm women's group against gender gap
Geochicas is a group of +180 women from Latin America and other parts of the world, born in the State of the Map Latam in Sao Paolo (November 2016). It aims to reduce the gender gap in the OpenStreetMap and geo-data-tec communities and strengthen women's knowledge, participation and leadership.
Objectives:
(1) Build a permanent analysis in the international community on the role and participation of women in OpenStreetMap spaces, open data, and technologies, seeking equity in the construction of information.
(2) Find sponsorships to grow the participation and advocacy of women in the key events of these communities, where networks are strengthened, agendas are made, projects emerge
(3) Build, expand and strengthen a knowledge community of Latin American women.
(4) Conduct projects that increase and improve information and data about or from the perspective of women, on the map of OpenStreetMap as well as projects related to data impact on the quality of life of people.
