Australia’s innovative GEOHEX Erosion Control System stabilises turf and substrate in a myriad of applications. As a cost-effective surface stabilisation and erosion solution for soil stability problems, the GEOHEX Erosion Control System prevents erosion, potholes, stabilises infill material and controls shearing, lateral and vertical movement in a wide range of soil and substrate types.
The system is also extremely strong, boasting a maximum load bearing (static) capacity of 1,200 tonnes per square metre when filled – a typical semi-trailer has a wheel load of about five tonnes per square metre per axle.
By increasing the effective structural integrity of soils, the GEOHEX creates a stiffened base layer that provides increased load support while preventing soil subsidence and soil erosion.
Its potential applications are endless, but it has to date been used in mine site rehabilitation, for water run-off control, slope stabilisation, erosion control and stormwater drainage. The GEOHEX also improves safety on the edge of roads, embankments, parking areas and many other medium to high traffic surfaces.
