GHG SMART - Sustainable Maritime Transport Training Programme

The GHG-Smart Project, led by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), supports Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in implementing the IMO GHG Strategy. These nations, heavily reliant on maritime transport and vulnerable to climate change, face unique challenges in decarbonizing their maritime sectors. The project delivers a comprehensive training program, hosted by the Republic of Korea, combining in-class learning, field visits, and industry familiarization. It aims to develop national maritime GHG emissions champions, enabling SIDS and LDCs to actively participate in policy-making, create national action plans, and secure financing for sustainable development.
