GIS Design S.r.l. was born in November 2002 from the idea of the brothers Filippo and Fabio Colombrita to combine the knowledge developed both by Filippo on GIS and on road, railway and airport infrastructures, as part of the PhD in Road Infrastructure Engineering, and with technological skills and IT technologies developed by Fabio at the end of the nineties, in order to create a SIT laboratory to support companies and operators in the sector. In the first years the company took care of most of the activities required in the field of integrated management systems (topographic and environmental surveys, development of management software, training of personnel responsible for its use, etc.) and infrastructure design complex (roads, road intersections, railways, subways, airports, etc.). Over time, GIS Design diversified its activities by dedicating itself more to the sector of road and airport transport safety, infrastructure design and the development of GIS applications. In recent years, in particular, it has supported various companies in the drafting of technical improvements for participation in tenders, developing considerable experience in the specific sector. Over time, GIS Design has made use of numerous collaborators who, in different ways and in different sectors, have contributed to the growth of the company.
