The GlycoNoVi project involves exploration of glycan interactions in Norovirus with the aim to develop antiviral treatments. Human noroviruses (NoVs) are a primary cause of viral gastroenteritis, resulting in health issues, economic losses, and especially in immunocompromised individuals, like in vulnerable populations.. GlycoNoVi, through exposure to both academic and industrial researchers, trains 10 doctoral candidates from diverse research and national backgrounds in glycan based antiviral treatments. It aims at providing an interdisciplinary platform suitable for enhancing understanding about viral infections and their treatments.
Through designated work-packages, GlycoNoVi approaches the concerned research problems in an organised and target oriented manner. Also, periodic meetings and workshops spread over regular intervals makes way for an efficient training of the DCs and proper communication of research among the members. This Research project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Research and Innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie (HORIZON-MSCA-2021-DN-01) grant agreement No. 101072717.
