About Bio-Nanomaterials and Tissue Engineering Laboratory (BNTELab)

BNTELab, led by Dr. Kamol Dey , designs and develops robust hydrogels for a wide range of applications, including tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, biosensors, soft electronics, and environmental remediation. We love to play with crosslinking chemistry to formulate multifunctional hydrogels for engineering functional human tissues and organs – including bone, cartilage, nerve, and heart – by an integrated use of stem cells and signaling molecules. Also, our laboratory concentrates on the synthesis of nanostructured biomaterials with biochemical, mechanical, and electrical properties suitable for mimicking tissue-specific microenvironment. In addition, BNTELab works on environmental remediation using sustainable nanomaterials and technologies. The long-term goal of BNTELab is to promote tissue engineering for medical impact and to harness nanotechnology to create a more prosperous society. Our team is actively collaborating with investigators at Chittagong University as well as across the nation and around the globe.
