AgConnect

AgConnect is a vibrant network of farmers, business owners, service providers and county government, that connects farmers to business resources, training, and financing to grow business and promoting smart, sustainable agricultural economic development, as well as consumers to local farmers for food security and educational resources about agriculture. AgConnect is a vibrant network of farmers, business owners, service providers and county government, that connects farmers to business resources, training, and financing to grow business and promoting smart, sustainable agricultural economic development, as well as consumers to local farmers for food security and educational resources about agriculture. This public/private partnership is the successor to the county's Ag Council, and was the foremost recommendation of the 2022 Chester County Agricultural Economic Development Strategic Plan. AgConnect, is now an initiative of Chester County and the Chester County Economic Development Council, and serves Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties. This organization is run by the Advisory Executive Board, a diverse and experienced committee that oversees the development and execution of AgConnect’s workplan, ensuring alignment with the county’s strategic objectives. To address various aspects of agricultural development, four action teams have been formed: •AgWorks: Workforce development team focused on regional agricultural workforce development; •AgFunds: Financial team dedicated to providing farm loan opportunities and financial support; •AgDoes: Chester County team tasked with implementing the Agricultural Economic Development Plan for the county; •AgSpeaks: Promotions team responsible for promoting the agricultural industry, coordinating the Farm Guide, and organizing the Chester County Farmer of the Year ceremony.
