Greener Hours

We're on a mission to help people use energy when it's clean. And not when it's not. Greener Hours is a consumer app that provides a personalised real-time, low-carbon energy forecast, empowering people to chose to use electricity in their home when it's cleanest (from renewable sources). The energy that flows into our homes every day is from a complex mix of sources that changes moment by moment. Whatever tariff we're on, Greener Hours means we can switch-on appliances and use electricity at times that we now know are best for the planet. Never has putting the wash on felt so good. We know mass-scale mainstream behaviour change is needed to deliver on the UK's commitment to being carbon-neutral in its energy mix. To meet this goal, we don't believe technology's going to cut it. Just look at how many smart washing machines have been sold. Right now, technology is largely a solution to a problem consumers don't have. Instead, at Greener Hours we focus on the customer experience, and have placed our award-winning behavioural science capability at the centre of what we do. We know how it's possible to deliver energy behaviour change at scale (we've done it before). It all depends on how you ask for it.
