Green Overseas Programme

The Thematic Programme for Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) founded by the EU and implemented by Expertise France aims to increase resilience to the effects of climate change and to facilitate and support the development of low-carbon, energy efficient economies across the target 25 Overseas Countries and Territories. The Thematic Programme will be implemented in 25 EU and UK Overseas Countries and Territories: 12 British territories: Anguilla, Bermuda, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Montserrat, Pitcairn, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, St Helena, Ascension Island, Tristan da Cunha, Turks and Caicos Islands 6 Dutch territories: Aruba, Bonaire, Curação, Saba, Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten 6 French territories: French Polynesia, French Southern and Antarctic Territories, New Caledonia and Dependencies, Wallis and Futuna Islands, Saint Barthélemy and Saint Pierre and Miquelon 1 Danish territory: Greenland. Supporting economic, social and environmental sustainable development in the OCTs By the end of the Programme, the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the target OCTs will have been enhanced. As such the programme aims to : • Raise the capacity of target OCTs to carry out assessments related to disasters in public health, sanitary crisis and climate change; • Improve management, storage technologies and new models of energy for target OCTs; • Increase knowledge across target themes, support the development and adoption of related tools and build the capacities to facilitate the development, financing and deployment of bankable renewal energy and energy efficiency projects across the target OCTs.
