Green SWaP – Green Solar-to-Propellant Water Propulsion
Green SWaP is a groundbreaking Horizon Europe project revolutionizing space propulsion by harnessing solar energy to convert water into eco-friendly propellants: hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) and hydrogen (H₂). Inspired by photosynthesis, we are pioneering sustainable in-space fuel production to enable low-cost, self-sufficient, and safer space missions.
Our Mission
(1) Develop an innovative bimodal propulsion system using green propellants
(2) Leverage solar energy for in-space production of H₂O₂ and H₂
(3) Design novel in-space storage solutions (inflatable hydrogen tanks)
(4) Advance solar thermal and chemical propulsion technologies
