Goodwill Ambassador for Timor-Leste

Born it Portugal and in living in Australia, Estela Ferreira is a humanitarian concerned for all peoples. Estela is passionate about freedom and human rights and it has always been her dream to become involved directly with improving the quality of life for people in developing countries. In 2006, recognising Estela’s hard work, determination and generosity, His Excellency Dr Jose Ramos-Horta, The President of The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste appointed Estela as the Goodwill Ambassador of Timor-Leste. Estela hopes that her contribution will positively impact on the lives of people in the newest of nations. Estela’s see her role as an extension of her commitment towards helping those in one of the newest nations – Timor-Leste. In 2015 Estela was nominated by Father Chris Riley as a board member of the Youth Off the Streets - Overseas Relief Fund.
