Gweda Lodge is a luxury game lodge situated in the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve, near the town of Bela-Bela. This unique game reserve is located only one and a half hours drive north of Pretoria in the magnificent Waterberg region of the Limpopo Province. The surrounding bushveld terrain varies between natural hillsides and open plains, with mountain views and perennial streams. The Game reserve is home to the big 5 with the lions encamped, making the reserve safe and perfect for activities and game drives.
In addition to the private lodge’s amenities, the reserve offers mountain bike trails, tennis courts, hiking, game viewing, bird watching, swimming, a spa, miniature golf, bush pub, conferencing, and a comprehensive food and beverage offering in the reception bar.
The lodge sleeps 10 adults and 6 kids in 5 luxury air-conditioned bedrooms. The fifth bedroom, located in a spacious closed loft area, contains 4 single beds with it’s own bathroom and balcony with air conditioning. All 5 bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, and there is a separate guest toilet. Both bath and shower facilities are available.
Gweda Lodge is built with an open-plan living area and the large stack away glass sliding doors open onto the huge deck with sun loungers. The swimming pool area with seating has exquisite views of the mountains and bush. The architecturally designed boma has excellent lighting for night time relaxing around the fire.
The luxury leather couches, dining room with a solid wood dining table & bar area, as well as an open plan “state of the art” kitchen with fridge, microwave and gas oven/stove has all the conveniences you might require.
The main building and the bar area has a television with selected DStv channels, an ice machine, fridge, pool table, air hockey & table tennis for entertainment. A private game-viewing vehicle can be rented to self-drive and enjoy the animal life to the fullest.
