HARMA VANILLA UGANDA

Harma vanilla is a Ugandan based company. vanilla is sourced from 14 districts around the country. vanilla is harvested twice a year it Uganda and that's what make Uganda different from other vanilla growing countries. our season be in June July and December January vanilla takes 9months to harvest and it also takes 3 months to process from the time of harvesting to make it a spice that is desired by everyone. before vanilla is processed it contains glycovanillin and it needs to be broken down into vanilla by blanching it under good temperatures, sweating it for 48hours, sun drying to bring down the moisture from 85%-45% after which the beans are subjected to a shade dry process and finally conditioning the beans so that you ensure vanilla is stable and above all to enhances aroma development Ugandan farmers face a lot of challenges like climate change, limited knowledge and access to sustainable markets which Harma vanilla has tried to solve through its extension team with and agricultural background and training. this has helped farmers increase their agricultural yield and boost levels of household income.
