About HawaiiLiteracy

Hawaii Literacy is dedicated to increasing literacy for adults and children in Hawai’i, a critical step in breaking cycles of poverty and under-education. Our mission is “to help people gain knowledge and skills by providing literacy and lifelong learning services.” Since 1971, Hawaii Literacy has provided tutoring to thousands of adults needing a second chance to learn to read and write, find work, and help their children, and helps disadvantaged children become readers and succeed in school. With the help of 325 volunteers, Hawai’i Literacy serves nearly 3,000 people in need each year. Literacy is the base for future achievement and Hawaii Literacy's free Literacy programs help increase literacy in Hawaii. We welcome connections from other LinkedIn members interested in supporting increased literacy, education, and economic opportunity in Hawai'i.
