The HCFI began work as a non-profit organization in 1986 with the sole aim of creating mass health awareness among people. It aims at serving humanity at large by providing healthcare solutions to one and all. HCFI specializes in using consumer-based entertainment modules to deliver awareness about various aspects of everyday healthcare. Its programmes focus on preventive-healthcare through regular awareness camps on issues such as HIV/AIDs, obesity, and health and sanitation.
HCFI is the only NGO in India to be honoured with two commemorative national stamps:

Perfect Health Mela:
Perfect Health Mela (PHM), a one-of-its-kind event held every year with a mission to generate all-around awareness on health. Under the insightful leadership and guidance of Padma Shri Awardee Dr K K Aggarwal, the Mela was conceptualized as a confluence of tradition and modernity and attracts over 1 lakh visitors each year. PHM is one of the most visited, widely covered, and celebrated community health events in the country.

CPR 10:
This technique entails using only chest compression without rescue breathing technique or mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to pump the heart and supply oxygen to the brain when someone is in a medical emergency due to sudden cardiac arrest or trauma from an accident. Knowing how to perform "Hands-only" CPR can mean all the difference between life and death.
HCFI currently holds three Limca Book of World Record titles for the maximum number of people trained in "Hands-only" CPR.
