Head to Speech

Head to Speech, Incorporated (HTS) is the leading national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to developing, monitoring, and improving upon educational, scientific and charitable initiatives that address athlete brain health, sports concussions, their effects on speech-language, hearing, and cognitive-communication skills. HTS is also a Continuing Education Provider with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). HTS advocates for the inclusion of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists in sports concussion management protocols. We provide educational resources and care packages to athletes and their support networks throughout their continuum of care, as well as brain health and fitness classes and programs to integrate cognitive-communication tasks into their warm ups, sports drills, physical exercises, daily routines, and transitional life and career skills. The Head to Speech Careers Pathways Program provides a diverse pipeline from the speech and hearing clinic to the sports arena and collaboration between sports schools, campuses, clinics, camps, and leagues. The program increases recruitment and retention of audiologists, speech-language pathologists and others interested in careers in brain health, brain injury, sports concussion management, and interprofessional collaborative practices. Head to Speech Academy produces its Annual Interprofessional Task Force Summit and Brain Health, Sports & Fitness Expo in the Washington, DC Area and beyond for interprofessional education and collaboration, as well as other continuing education and professional development courses. Every Head to Speech Brain Workout raises awareness and donations for our programs and concussion recovery care packages that can be requested. Our headquarters are located in Bowie, Maryland.
