Heilala Vanilla—100% Pure Vanilla from our plantation direct to your pantry. Our Vanilla is grown in the rich and fertile virgin soil of the Vava'u Islands (Kingdom of Tonga) using organic growing principles. From whole beans through to a range of intense extracts and pastes to our intensive ground vanilla bean powder - Heilala is 100 per cent pure - vanilla in its most pure and natural form. With a product range to satisfy the home baker and executive chef, through to large scale gourmet food manufacturers – you will never think of vanilla as ‘plain’ again! Our story: Heilala Vanilla began as an aid project to assist a village in one of the most beautiful and remote places on the globe, Vava'u Islands, Kingdom of Tonga. There our family fell in love with the people and the environment, and using our horticultural background and research facilities in Tauranga New Zealand we established a Vanilla Plantation. A partnership of people, united by our passion for the world’s most sensual and exotic flavour and aroma. We practice organic growing principles in the most perfect and natural growing environment. Our Vanilla is grown in organic virgin soil, on coconut husk frames, hand pollinated and dried under the Pacific Sun, then stored at optimum conditions to ensure full flavour to develop. Our practice of true sustainability with the local village has enabled resources for education and infrastructure, which they otherwise may not have had, and is recognised by the local Agriculture Ministry as a true example of a Pacific partnership in practice. The result is the richest grade of Vanilla in the Asia Pacific region with its distinctive aroma, shine and plumpness. Heilala Vanilla is then processed and packaged for each order and dispatched to Executive Chefs, gourmet food manufacturers, retail outlets and home chefs around the world!
