Hele Mua means ‘to move forward’ in Hawaiian. We are a nonprofit driving Hawaii’s sustainability movement forward by hosting interactive beach cleanups. Our cleanups bridge tourism and local communities, while teaching cultural education and environmental stewardship. At the heart of our mission is the commitment to bridge the gap between Hawaii's tourism industry and local communities. Through interactive beach cleanups and cultural education, we promote environmental stewardship and preserve Native Hawaiian traditions. Our educational events foster a sense of kuleana (responsibility), encouraging both residents and visitors to adopt sustainable practices. We envision a future where Hawaii's tourism and local communities coexist in harmony, united in the commitment to protect the environment and uphold the islands' rich cultural heritage.
