Hellenic Finance (HF) provides investors with a pure play on Greek recovery through investing in Greek distressed assets, sold as part of the bank led reduction of non-performing loans through sales and awarding of third party management contracts. HF is an owner-operator and seeks to vertically integrate the ecosystem of service providers on its balance sheet to control the quality, reduce leakage and maximize recoveries. HF is founded by Anthimos Thomopoulos, ex-CEO of Piraeus Bank who had also served as Deputy CEO of National Bank of Greece bringing in significant banking expertise and a strong turnaround track record. HF’s proposition aims to service its NPL assets throughout the entire spectrum of their lifecycle, from NPLs to REOs, manage the REOs to exit through commercialization and sales as well as set up its own REIC and REOCos. HF’s servicing ecosystem supports the complete value chain from state-of-the-art underwriting all the way to real estate monetization and consists of a fully integrated servicing platform that will act as an enabler to its core strategy. HF’s offers clients a wide range of expertise including in depth credit analysis, NPL and REO underwriting, servicing, commercialization and monetization services. The capital raised provides significant dry powder to align interests with other international institutional investors by co-investing in NPLs portfolios. Simultaneously, HF captures and utilizes the revenues generated from servicing contract fees to build HF’s equity stakes into its own ecosystem of service providers and entities that stand to benefit from the Greek NPE resolution.
