Hensard University

Hensard University is a unique private university licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2023 and promoted by the Henry Seriake Dickson Foundation (HSDF). His Excellency Senator Henry Seriake Dickson is the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees. Located in Toru-Orua, in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, it is the first private university in the State. Established to pursue academic excellence, character formation, discipline, and commitment to service in line with the founder’s vision, The University will bridge gaps between academic certification, skills development, and the practical industrial application of knowledge for the development of society. In line with its vision of producing leaders, entrepreneurs, and champions of economic and social change, Hensard students will be taught entrepreneurship and encouraged to become real entrepreneurs from their second year in school by exposure to practical involvement in the running, overseeing, and management of businesses in their chosen fields under the guidance and mentorship of the school. Hensard University places a high premium in the development of the totality of the human being through character formation, leadership development and the inculcation in the students of a strong spiritual foundation for growth according to every student’s faith, belief, and conviction. Hensard University’s uniqueness is further highlighted in its comprehensive vision of the developments of the human being. While it strives for the highest standards in academics, research and innovation, it places emphases on character, morality, and spirituality without which academic qualification or life, by Hensard standards, is incomplete.
