HERlab is a synthetic biology startup unlocking the ‘expression and validation’ part of engineered protein discovery – no matter how complex the protein design is.
Our uniqueness: we operate far beyond standard expression systems by leveraging the capabilities of hundreds of different unconventional microorganism species and the help of machine learning (ML).
Our first product is the HAI2 platform. It onboards your protein and screens it across our bank of host microorganisms. Precisely matching your protein’s needs to its ideal host microorganism, it enables us to solve the existing expression challenges – whatever the folding, PTMs, stability, or other requirements, we will find what it takes to achieve functional hits.
The HAI2 platform is open for pilot projects. We are especially interested in protein designs that couldn’t be expressed using standard expression systems, such as E. coli or cell-free systems.
