By 2050 global population will increase 40% to 9.6Bn people requiring a 70% increase in agricultural production needed to supply food, equivalent to 200Mn more tonnes of red meat produced a year (FAO, 2020). Given the challenges presented by global climate change and the associated impact of greenhouse gases and a UK net zero carbon target for agriculture by 2040; we need to develop novel, low carbon, sustainable Agritech solutions now. Herd Advance is introducing state-of-the-art hybrid digital solutions which will improve red meat supply volume, enhance food quality and dramatically improve user profit performance. Combined these enable beef farmers to have at their fingertips the information required not only to achieve higher profit margins but to enable them to meet carbon free targets. Improving results and reducing costs via automation and data analytics is key to this success.
