The HEU-EFS project will develop an EU harmonized framework and accompanying recommendations for conducting EFS in the EU. By facilitating EFS in the EU, the 4-year project, which started in October 2023, seeks to bring Europe in line with the United States, which already has a dedicated EFS program. This effort not only enhances the EU's competitiveness compared to other emerging jurisdictions but, more importantly, ensures that EU patients gain access to innovative medical technologies that are safe, effective, and aligned with their needs, and will improve clinical excellence for healthcare professionals in the EU.
