Himalayan Brewery Ltd., was established in the year, 1980 with a technical collaborationwith Mohan Meakin Ltd., of India. The factory is situated in Godavari, Lalitpur, Nepal which about 20 kilometers southwards from the capital, Kathmandu, located at the height of 4,500 feet above sea level, amidst the salubrious clime and lush green surroundings. It acquires about 64 ropanies i.e., 1,15,000 sq. meters of land in the close vicinity of the renowned Royal Botanical Gardens of Nepal. The brewery gets its water supply from underground spring water source at the foot of the ‘Phulchowki’ hill located about 2 kms from the factory.
The factory started with a modest capacity of 15,000 hectoliters per annum in 1983. The current capacity has reached to 100,000 hectoliters per annum due to increasing demand of beer. Himalayan Brewery currently brews Kathmandu Premium Lager which is also available in Draught, Iceberg Extra Strong Beer and Commando Super Strong Beer.
