In the wake of increasing degradation of some of the Himalayan areas due to unprecedented growth in the number of visitors, the Himalayan Environment Trust was founded by Himalayan Legends on 14 Oct 1989 to restore the Himalayas to their pristine glory.
HET has evolved its approach towards social and environmental projects in the Himalayas. Nurturing Social change is driven by enlightening, improving awareness, and educating the local communities, while solving problems around their needs. We at HET are working on targeting one village at a time whereby we run multiple projects focused around protecting the Himalayas and the people that inhabit them.
Active Projects include: Electrification of villages, distribution of smart stoves, setting up of library's and revenue generation through smart farming,
