The HPC group focuses on computational improvements and optimization of scientific computing and AI applications on parallel and distributed systems, in particular across systems of various scales, ranging from single computers to supercomputers. Key technical aspects include the efficient operation of HPC systems and data centers, the optimization of both hardware and software resources to maximize performance, minimize energy costs towards increased sustainability. Our work supports computational science & engineering, data analysis and machine learning pipelines, and foundation models.
