Heritage Science Laboratory Ljubljana

The Heritage Science Laboratory at the University of Ljubljana is based at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology and brings together a diverse team of researchers working on interdisciplinary questions in heritage science. Combining expertise in material and environmental sciences with a focus on the human aspects of heritage, the laboratory develops advanced instruments, methods and techniques for monitoring and analysing cultural heritage materials, objects and sites. The laboratory works closely with conservators, researchers and institutions worldwide. Actively involved in the European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science, the team contributes to innovative research and infrastructure development, fostering broad access to its results and facilities. Through teaching, publications and partnerships, the lab engages with students, professionals and the public, advancing the preservation and understanding of cultural heritage.
