Originally known as Bear Bear, Australia was quick to adopt him as one of their own and give him a new name Humphrey B. Bear, through a competition, which quickly led to his own highly successful TV show. Humphrey’s TV program, “Here’s Humphrey”, is one of the longest-running children’s television shows in the world. Humphrey B. Bear has received numerous national awards and commendations including the “Citizen of the Year” Award at Australia Day celebrations and two Logies for “Best Children’s Series”. He has appeared on the Nine Network in Australia, PBS Network in the USA, Spanish language cable network GalaVision to Hispanic countries, across Asia on the ABC’s Australia Network spanning 46 countries with an estimated audience of 144 million in the Asia Pacific region.
