IDEABATIC is an award-winning social enterprise solving critical last-mile cold chain issues globally. IDEABATIC has developed a last-mile cooling system called SMILE (SMart last-mILE cooling system) that eliminates error and reduces spoilage in temperature-sensitive substances such as vaccines and bio-products. SMILE is freeze-free and fail-safe. It keeps vaccines and bio-products at between 2 and 8 degrees for 3 to 6 days during use without electricity. SMILE has been iterated, tested and field-proven. With the situation of the current pandemic, the logistics for vaccine delivery and testing could be overwhelming. SMILE could help, in particular for reaching out to the vulnerable and those who can't easily travel to a vaccination or testing facility. SMILE will also improve efficiency in many temperature-sensitive applications such as critical research and end-to-end cold-chains worldwide.
