IDEate is a research initiative dedicated to addressing the complexities of digitalising public services while championing inclusivity for all. While the digitalisation of public services holds immense potential for empowering individuals and communities, it also presents challenges. However, without careful consideration and inclusive practices, it can inadvertently widen existing disparities. Bureaucratic systems often lack the flexibility to truly understand the diverse needs and aspirations of citizens, leading to digital services that may not adequately serve their intended beneficiaries. IDEate is here to change that narrative. Through collaborative partnerships with communities, designers, and public sector stakeholders, we're tackling these challenges head-on. Our approach focuses on practical tools and methodologies that empower public service providers to co-create solutions that address the needs of their customers including those with additional needs. By bridging the gap between technology and community needs, we're paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable digital landscape.
