IDEOは、1978年に米国カリフォルニアのパロアルトで創業しました。「デザインを通じて世界にポジティブな変化を生み出す」ことを志し、2020年現在、世界の9拠点にて事業を展開しています。
当初より「人間中心」アプローチを掲げ、Apple社の初代マウスや、世界初のラップトップ型PCに代表されるプロダクトデザインで知られるようになりましたが、急速に複雑化する社会の課題とニーズに応えるべく、ビジネスから社会システムまでより広い領域において新たな価値を創造してきました。
