The Indigenous General Practice Trainee Network (IGPTN) is a not-for-profit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander controlled organisation working towards training and workforce equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander GPs.
We exist to address the underrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander GPs, and we do this by:
- Enhancing health outcomes for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people.
- Improving the health system’s responsiveness to patient needs, including enhancing the healthcare experience for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals seeking medical assistance.
- Promoting positive role models to both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous individuals.
- Increasing training and workforce equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander GPs.
