Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition (IHM Ranchi also known as SIHM), Ranchi is an autonomous institution under department of Tourism, Art Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Jharkhand established in 2019. The Institute has been set up with joint assistance from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Department of Tourism, Government of Jharkhand with a view to provide quality education and develop skilled Manpower for the Hospitality Industry. The Institute has been opened to provide opportunities to all talented and Enthusiastic students of Jharkhand and other parts of the country to develop their Hospitality skill sets and create the future Hospitality Leaders. IHM Ranchi is the First and only Hotel Management Institute in Jharkhand affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. The Institute is currently offering different demand-driven courses in core hospitality operations which are 3 years B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, 1½ years Diploma in Front Office, 1½ years Diploma in Housekeeping, 1½ years Craftsmanship Course in Food Production and Patisserie and 6 months Craftsmanship course in Food & Beverage Service. Also, the Institute runs Hunar se Rozgar Tak Skill development program sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The institute operates from a beautiful building in an Environment friendly location on the outskirts of Ranchi town in Brambe, near Central University of Jharkhand, on NH 39 connecting Daltonganj with Ranchi. Keeping in view the advancements in the ever-evolving hospitality industry, the Institute has been equipped with modern labs to effectively train the students in all the aspects of Hotel Operations and Management.
