IKHTIYAAR

Ikhtiyaar is a student-run, women empowerment and social entrepreneurship project, at LSR. We work with the women of Zamrudpur, creating several opportunities for their financial independence. Sessions are conducted on various important issues, like menstrual hygiene, financial literacy etc, in order to spread awareness. Apart from that, Ikhtiyaar also puts up hair braiding and Mehendi stalls during fest season, where the women volunteer to work and the money raised, goes directly to these women. At the end of the day, it’s all about lifting each other up, and Ikhtiyaar strives to provide assistance to these wonderful women and empower them.
