IKUSASA (SKILLS DEVELOPMENT) TRUST

The Trust supports black South African women who exhibit: academic, creative and/or technical prowess; and/or have demonstrated leadership skills; and/or merit in any career fields related to sustainable human settlement. The support offered to these beneficiaries includes allocation of funds towards tertiary education and mentorship, to help them achieve their potential with the necessary skills and knowledge and a support network; to thrive in the business/work context. The Ikusasa Trust is fuelled by B-BBEE skills development funding from SME Partner Companies who share the view that we support the new leaders to help remodel the priorities of our companies and our cities and provide platforms for Black South African Woman to lead. Currently Ikusasa has 3 partner companies and seeks to expand its network of like minded SME companies in South Africa. Beneficiaries are most often nominated by the partner companies, young / talented women who the company would like to support in further studies and mentor support. The Trust is registered in 2009 and the Trust Deed is drafted in line with the B-BBEE Act. The Trustees is administered by volunteer trustees with expertise in line with the objectives and responsibilities.
