Imara Foundation

Imara Foundation is a non profit organization registered in Nigeria as an Incorporated Trust. Imara chooses to make an impact in the lives of women and children in Nigeria. At Imara we recognize that enriching women involves holistic empowerment taking or cultural context into account. We also work to actively promote Millenium Development Goals 2, 3 & 8. We are a Pan-Nigerian Organization but we are also international in our outlook and our programmes aim to touch the lives of every woman and child wherever we can be of service. Our key objectives include the promotion of the recognition and resect for the fundamental rights and freedoms of women and children as recognized by the Nigerian Constitution as well as the rights and freedoms recognised by international charters including the UN convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). We recognize the place of 'culture in context', in the promotion of the mission, and we work to create a platform for awareness creation through education and knowledge building.
