Imperial Planetary Robotics Lab (IPRL) was founded in 2022 to connect students from all different backgrounds in London who are passionate about space robotics.
The lab aims to allow like-minded students to perform research together on breakthrough robotics projects for space exploration. We want to achieve this by bringing them together and connecting them to experienced academic and industry partners.
IPRL's current flagship project is a full-scale Martian rover aimed at competing in initiatives such as the European Rover Challenge and the University Rover Challenge in the upcoming years. A new branch opened in 2024 focuses on Lunar Water extraction capabilities, teaching the members academic skills as important as practical ones in space exploration.
