The Mayor’s Youth Leadership Council (MYLC) advises Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett and city government on issues that impact youth and helps shape strategies to improve their communities.
Youth voice matters and, if empowered, can have tremendous influence to create positive and lasting change. Because of the MYLC, community leaders can make better decisions on matters concerning youth, resulting in stronger neighborhoods.
The MYLC also provides an opportunity to develop the next great generation of civic leaders in Indianapolis, both through the members themselves and through their work to empower the voices of their peers.
MYLC members not only engage in substantive discussions on the significant issues of the day, but also receive education on the various entities that make a city function, including government, business, and the social sector.
